Space 242 Freak Show

I went to the Golgol Bordello concert last night. What awesomeness, the crowd had so much energy. I also really enjoyed the opening band Devotchka . They have a neat old-timey looking website. Their music is very croony with a haunting quality, they remind me a little of something from Twin Peaks with a little bit of a dusty Carnivale feel. Oh, sweet music. Along the carnival gypsy theme, Space 242 will be having it's "Freak Show" opening this Friday. They expect the gallery to be packed. In anticipation of this they have scheduled a second opening (with all the revelries of the first) Friday May 7th 6-8pm I recomend making it an afternoon of art and swinging by the Fort Point Art walk beforehand.

Process Moustache and Cherries

Here are some process images of my pieces. I'm continuning a seres of these little circus theamed paintings that I started for the show at the Monkeyhouse gallery ( I currently still have two pieces from this series there). After these two pieces I think I will do some more paintings of animals at carnival games. I love having a reason to incorporate text into my images.
